The city is divided into the Old Town and the New Town, relative to the date of their developments, with the Royal Mile dominating the center. The climate in Edinburgh in general is 3-4 degrees cooler than in the south of England, but there are equal chance of sun and rain throughout the year. The best time to visit Edinburgh in terms of weather is from May to September.
