Activities & Entertainment

» Shopping
Being an upbeat city, there is no end to shopping-fun in Bristol. There are both markets for the antiques and the modern. For arts and crafts, antiques and jewelry, you can find them at Clifton Village, St Nicholas Markets, New Antiques Center, and the Bristol Antique Center which is currently the best antiques markets in town. For stylish and trendy shopping, head to Broadmead which is a shopping complex full of Haute Coutour shops, the West End which encompasses the Park Street, Queen's Road and Whiteladies Road together, and The Galleries which is a three-storey closed mall.

» Dining
Bristol has abundance of fine dining options, whatever cuisine your palate is after. The range of specialist restaurants run the gamut from traditional English and Irish to the exotic and spicy Thai food. Many streets in the city are dotted with eateries. Check out Whiteladies Road, King Street, Park Street, Regent Street, Gloucester Road, Corn Street and Alma Vale Road. For some quick and cheap bites, there are countless stalls around St Nicholas Markets.

» Nightlife
Expect pubs and clubs in Bristol to be noisy and jam-packed with everyone shouting on the top of their lungs to make themselves heard as that's generally the way they are and there's no escaping it. However, that's part of the fun to experience the pub vibe in this city. Most of these bubbly and boisterous venues are clustered in the city center especially on King Street and along the harborside whereas Park Street is primarily populated by students. For a breezier air and quieter boozer, your safe bet would lie around the outer edges of the city center.
